WINDSURFING IN COSTA RICA
Diagonal onshore winds of between four and eight beaufort ensure that windsurfers get their money‘s worth. Waves from two to four metres in height allow for mast high jumps and fantastic rides. Freestylers, speed fanatics, inexpereinced wave riders or beginners - we guarantee that Lake Arenal won’t be forgotten.
Somedays it can even be a bit rough for expereinced windsurfers. When all the wind turbines around the lake stop turning, it‘s time to rig the smallest sail or take a day’s break. Every year we have a few days where winds blow around 100km/h.
Equipped with top gear, a windsurfing station is located directly on Lake Arenal. Windsurfers can bring their own equipment and store it on the spot, ready rigged, for a fee. Boards and sails can also be hired (half or full-day) at the surf station.North sails, Fanatic-Boards or boards built especially for Lake Arenal ensure a great day! Peter and his team are more than happy to take care of your needs. Whether beginners or experienced windsurfers, the crew is always on hand for advice or assistance.
